Everyone wants something done for less that's a no brainer.  We don't want to spend more money than we have to, especially when you have to work so hard for you income.

You get what you pay for; that is a wise saying and sometimes it is true and other times it is not.  The problem is the proof is in the pudding.  Unfortunately you never know if you got your monies worth until after the fact and then the company who did the work wants their money.  After all they did do some work and perhaps paid for the product you got and they need to be paid for the product.  You can always get reviews or one would think but sometimes there are no reviews because someone did not want to take the time do leave a review.  Others will check with the BBB but who really knows if that information is correct since they are in it for the money as well.

So what do you do?  You can get 3-4 estimates and see how those match up and the ones that are too high and too low you can throw out.  Then you are in the middle of the road and have a good idea of what it really is going to cost you, not just in money but time, professionalism etc.  The intangible things that you pay for but never see.  It is these things that are sometimes most important.  Yo may want to ask what products they use and why they use those particular ones.  Write down the names of the products and check them out to see if the are good products or not.  Ask if the estimate is all inclusive, which means does it include the prep time and clean up and disposal of paint and cans etc.  Ask how long the job will take.  You can ask them to give you 3 references, be aware just because the painter may have a tough time remembering who his good customers are doesn't mean he doesn't have any.  Most good painters have all good customers so they really don't keep track of the good ones or bad ones.  Just an FYI

I am writing this to help you the consumer to choose your painting company.  It may not be us but at least you will have a good idea of what to look for when choosing a painter or painting company.
